Protect your personal information

• Your email, phone number and address are hidden from other members by default — share them only when you are comfortable.
• Keep conversations on Rishta24 until you trust the person.
• Never share bank details, card numbers, OTPs or copies of your ID documents.
• Use a strong, unique password and never reuse it on other sites.

Warning signs of a scam

• Anyone who asks you for money, a loan, a gift card or an "investment opportunity" — no matter the story.
• A profile that moves very fast: declaring love, pushing for marriage or asking to move off the platform within a day or two.
• Refusing a video call, or photos that look like stock or celebrity images.
• Inconsistent details — age, job, city or marital status that change between messages.
• Pressure, guilt or urgency of any kind.

Meeting in person

• Speak on a video call before meeting.
• Meet in a public place for the first several meetings.
• Tell a family member or friend where you are going and when you expect to be back.
• Arrange your own transport and keep your phone charged.
• Involve your family early — this is a marriage decision, not a secret.

Verify before you commit

• Ask to meet family and visit the home before any engagement.
• Independently confirm education, employment and marital status.
• Be cautious about anyone who avoids introducing you to their family.

If something feels wrong

Every member profile has Block and Report buttons. Blocking removes that member from your search results and stops them contacting you — they are not told that you blocked them. Reporting sends the profile to our moderation team, who can hide photos or suspend the account.

Rishta24 does not run background checks on members. Please use your own judgement and involve your family in the process.
